Do you have fond memories of playing outdoors as a kid? Well I know I do! Sometimes my brothers and I would play cops and robbers with our neighbours and other times we would go on weird little adventures like trying to capture stray neighbourhood cats (we never actually succeeded!). Jenna, one of My Studio Party’s dance facilitators, also has fond memories of outdoor activities. In the summer, she would often go camping with her family, climb trees or go horseback riding through fields and forests! Doesn’t that sound amazing?

Everyone at My Studio Party has at least one good memory of doing outdoor activities growing up and we want to make sure that your kids to do.

Here are 7 great outdoor activities for kids to help them create strong fun memories etc:

1. Backyard Movie Night

It’s kind of like going to a drive-in movie but way more fun! Make some popcorn, lay out some blankets and cushions and enjoy the movie! Here’s a short DIY guide on how to build your very own movie screen.

2. Blow Bubbles

Sometimes the simplest outdoor activities are the best! I know I loved this when I was little. You can buy a bottle of pre-made bubble solution or you can make you own.

3. Water Balloons

4. Wash the Car

I know to most adults this outdoor activity sounds like a chore. That being said, to kids, it’s an opportunity to have fun and play with the garden hose!

5. BBQ

This is more of a family outdoor activity than a kid’s activity. Why not slowly teach the kids how to use the barbecue so that they can prepare you some food in future years?

6. Picnic

If you want to keep it simple, have a picnic in your backyard. Otherwise, get the kids to help you prepare everything and then head to a nearby park!

7. Backyard camping

Kids will love the idea of going on an adventure in the safety and comfort of their own backyard. Here are some great ideas to make your kids’ backyard camping trip a success.
